I haven't deserted this blog yet. I've just been covering a plethora of shifts on both days and nights, so my schedule is completely out of whack. Hooray for overtime!
Ugh. I'll be back when I have the energy.

I know what you mean. Last year I worked for Wally World, started as a cashier (for 6 months) and got promoted to CSS. Since I'm in my 50's my assistant manager realized I had a few talents so assigned me to be in charge of all the point of sale equipment in the store (registers, scanners, scales, self check, etc.) and I was to do (fix) scheduling for all the cashiers. I told him in no uncertain terms that I was a retiree making more on my pension than he was on his salary...so only wanted part time hours. They worked me about 50 hours a week for months, finally got them to drop me to 30 hours a week but it was still 5 days and crazy shifts so I quit (for good this time, I'd offered to quit a couple times before but didn't go through with it). Did my taxes, the $$$ I made at Wally World kicked me into a higher tax bracket so IRS took 1/2 what I made. The gas it took me to get to work, and the $$ I spent on lunches took the rest. Worked at Wally World for almost a year for NOTHING!!!!
Please...come back to us. We miss you and your great commentary. Hope to 'see' you soon.
